Zvi Garty
Zvi Garty, a resident of Ein Hod since 1974, lives and breathes the village and its natural surroundings. His identity as an artist includes being part of an established and thriving artist community which speaks and creates art, and sustains itself by inspiration form the magical natural habitat around it. The big fire of 2010 was a major reshuffling of the cards; the lush green surroundings turned into burnt forest. The dark majesty of the burnt forest, dissipated after a while. Garty then started looking at the Mediterranean Sea, which can actually be seen from his back window--the sea which holds within it the spirit of adventurous journeys. These elements are visible in his art, a journey of discovery of close and faraway regions combining reality and imagination.
