Yael Berkowitz , fourth generation in Zichron Yaakov, lives at the edge of her family farm plot. Her parents cultivated the farm which included goats and chickens as well as a vegetable garden for self-use. In her art, Berkowitz, a photographer and painter, explores the tension between childhood memories and the present, her love for Zichron and her family and her personal longing as an artist. In her collage work, Berkowitz photographs found elements from the yard—some aggrandized and others cut into pieces, and combine them all to create hybrid visions of her world.
