Varda Rotem Halfon

Varda Rotem Chalfon has lived on Founders street in Binyamina, since 2014. It was important for her to live on a street which embodies and carries within it, the history and legacy of Binyamina. Her work features an exploration of topics close to her hear, which relate to the here and now. Currently she focuses on the Cypress trees which are quite ubiquitous and iconic in this region. At times the poplar serves as a fencing tool for an agricultural grove and/or a wind breaker, and at other times as a lone tree in the landscape. Her paintings are characterized by strong, expressive and vibrant color, as if suggesting she were frantically and passionately consuming life itself.
