A resident of Zichron Yaakov since 1981, Sarah Ray is deeply connected to the land and to nature and expresses these deep connections in her art. .In her art she also includes difficult biographical events and a complicated existence through her expressive brushstrokes and the ever changing color palates. Ray gains her inspiration from the natural habitat around her and infuses it with her own range of real-time feelings and musings.  One of her recent themes is a dwindling pine forest, which she sees through the window .Each theme is explored through several works in a series such that some of the works are treated with optimistic color, while in others she employs a dark color palate.
