Myriam F. Levi was born in Switzerland and has lived in Zichron Yaakov since 1998. As an immigrant to this country, the topic of local/regional identity is close to her he/art.  Wax is her preferred raw material which undergoes several processes of melting hardening and layering on the canvas, until the work is determined done. The tension between connection and separation is expressed abstractly by the edges of color fields which seem to collide rather than merge. Indeed, her works have an appearance of large and bright magical color fields, especially when caught through certain perspectives at just the right light.
